Vivekananda Educational Trust

Vivekananda Educational Trust was established and duly registered as a Trust on 7th December 2019 with a noble vision of promoting quality education, character formation and social responsibility among young learners.

Under the auspices of the Trust, Vivekananda English School commenced its educational journey on 12th January 2020, on the auspicious occasion of the 157th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The institution was founded with the objective of providing quality and value-based education in an encouraging and disciplined environment.

Inspired by the life, teachings and ideals of Swami Vivekananda, the school believes that education should extend beyond textbooks and examinations. It aims to nurture knowledge, character, confidence, discipline, creativity and compassion among students.

The institution is committed to developing responsible and socially conscious young citizens who can contribute positively to society. Through academic learning, moral values, co-curricular activities and social responsibility, Vivekananda English School seeks to fulfil the vision of its founding Trust and contribute meaningfully to the holistic development of every learner.

A Message from the Principal

Welcome to Vivekananda English School, where we believe that education is not merely the acquisition of knowledge, but a continuous process of building character, developing confidence and nurturing responsible human beings.

Our aim is to provide every child with a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment where curiosity is encouraged, talents are recognized and every learner receives opportunities to grow academically, morally and socially. We seek to install in our students the values of discipline, honesty, compassion, cooperation and respect for others.

Inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, we believe that education should bring out the best qualities inherent in every child. Our dedicated teachers strive to make learning meaningful, joyful and purposeful, while encouraging students to discover their abilities and develop their full potential.

As we move forward, our commitment remains firmly focused on quality education, character formation and holistic development. We aspire to prepare our students to face the challenges of the future with courage, confidence, responsibility and a spirit of service, thereby enabling them to become capable and compassionate citizens of society.

School Management Committee (SMC)

The School Management Committee (SMC) of Vivekananda English School consists of 15 members, representing a balanced participation of parents, teachers and members of the wider community. More than 50% of the members are parents, ensuring meaningful parental participation in the development and management of the school.

The Committee includes teachers from the school as well as experienced teachers from other schools at both primary and secondary levels. Their academic experience and professional insight contribute to the effective planning and continuous improvement of educational activities.

The SMC also maintains strong women’s representation, with more than 50% of the members being women, promoting inclusive and participatory decision-making.

The Committee further includes educationists and social workers, whose knowledge, experience and community-oriented approach help the school address the broader educational and social needs of its students. Through the collective participation of parents, teachers, educationists and social workers, the SMC works towards quality education, student welfare, character development, community participation and the overall growth of the school.

School Prayer & Daily Routine

At Vivekananda English School, the school prayer assembly is an integral part of our daily school routine. It helps students begin the day with a sense of discipline, unity, gratitude and national pride.

• Bonde Matorom: The National Song of India - invoking love and respect for the motherland.

• Jana Gana Mana: The National Anthem of India, fostering national unity and patriotism.

• School Pledge: Beginning with “India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters…”, reminding students of their responsibilities towards the nation and fellow citizens.

• Prayer & Inspirational Thoughts: Encouraging students to develop good values, discipline, cooperation and a positive attitude towards life.

Through the morning prayer and assembly, the school seeks to nurture character, patriotism, mutual respect and a spirit of service, in keeping with the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

Library

The Library of Vivekananda English School is an important center for learning, reading and intellectual development. It has a collection of more than 1,000 books, carefully selected to support students from Pre-Nursery to Madhyamik level.

The library contains books covering all major subjects and areas of the school curriculum, along with a wide range of reference books. It also includes age-appropriate storybooks, general knowledge books, educational literature and other reading materials to encourage students to develop a regular reading habit.

The collection is designed to meet the different learning needs and interests of students at various stages of their education. Reference materials provide additional support for academic study, while supplementary reading helps students broaden their knowledge beyond the classroom.

The school encourages students to make effective use of the library as a quiet and enriching learning space, fostering curiosity, independent learning, imagination and a lifelong love of reading.

Laboratories

Vivekananda English School has well-equipped science laboratories designed to support practical learning and scientific exploration. The laboratories are provided with the necessary practical materials, apparatus and equipment required for students up to Standard X.

The laboratory facilities enable students to understand scientific concepts through hands-on experiments and practical activities, rather than relying solely on theoretical learning. The available materials support practical work across the relevant science subjects and help students develop observation, experimentation, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The school encourages students to use the laboratories under proper guidance and supervision, maintaining safety, discipline and scientific practices during practical sessions.

The laboratory facilities therefore play an important role in providing experiential and activity-based science education from the foundational level up to Standard X.
